Specialised in belay glasses conception for climbers, our goal is to develop high quality products.
The YY team bases its product design in observing and optimizing. We improve climbers comfort, whether they beginners or experts.
Today we are developing new "well-being" solutions for the climbers community.
WHY THIS NAME, YY VERTICAL ?
The first Y refers to Alex family name “Yang” and the second one refers to the location of our company :
Grenoble lies in the middle of three valleys which are formed by 3 mountain chains of Chartreuse, Belledonne and Vercors.
If you have a look on the map you can see that the form of the valleys is an Y.
And the “Vertical” is the connection to world of climbing.

THE COMPANY'S INCEPTION
The YY story began when Alex Yang, the founder of this dynamic start-up arrived at Grenoble... He hasn't been climbing.
But then, his neighbor convinced him to go climbing with her and he liked it.
In the beginning he belayed. Thanks to or because of this, he realized that watching the climber is really uncomfortable
(his neck started to be hurting).
Also, Alex wondered why everybody is belaying like that and he asked himself if there isn’t a solution.
He heard about some prism glasses, tried them and found that they can be improved. That’s how everything started !
